Vijayawada: Telugu Desam party chief and former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has made it clear they are in the National Democratic Alliance-led by the BJP and he was going to attend their meeting in Delhi.
Addressing a press conference in his residence at Undavalli near here on Wednesday, Naidu asserted as part of the BJP-led NDA they would support the alliance. “The TDP, Jana Sena and BJP forged an alliance in Andhra Pradesh and won 21 seats.
“I have vast experience in politics and I have seen so many political changes in the country. I am going to attend the NDA alliance meeting, scheduled to be held in New Delhi,” he clarified.
Thanking the people for giving an overwhelming victory to the TDP-BJP-JSP alliance in Andhra, Naidu attributed the victory to the coordinated efforts of the cadres of the three parties.
Describing the 2024 elections as a historical one, Naidu claimed that a person came from the US to Andhra to cast his vote with a determination of defeating the YSRCP-led government, and at the same time, some people working as daily wagers in neighbouring states, also thronged to the state to cast their vote to dethrone the Jagan Mohan Reddy government.
Naidu reminded that when the TDP was launched by NT Rama Rao in 1883, it won 200 seats and now, in 2024, the TDP has registered such a massive victory. The TDP-BJP-JSP alliance has secured 55.38 per cent of votes, he added.
Naidu said that he did not feel pain even when an attempt was made on his life by the then Naxalites, but he felt severe pain, when the YSRCP MLAs abused him and his family members personally in the Assembly.
“I have never seen this destruction and anarchies which have taken place during the five years of the YSRCP regime. All systems collapsed and the natural resources were plundered,” he slammed.
Many TDP leaders and activists were harassed and some of them were sent to prisons on false charges, he lamented. The YSRCP-led government harassed the media also, he regretted.
He accused the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy headed government of hiking power tariff nine times during the five years.
Reiterating his commitment for the development of the state, Naidu said that they would go forward with the aim of creating a bright future for the generations to come.
“We reach out to the people like servants and not like rulers. We will take our election manifesto to the people and implement it as assured. Since the BJP is part of our alliance, we must provide good governance without mistakes,” Naidu observed.
It may be mentioned here that the TDP has won 16 Lok Sabha seats, the Jana Sena has won two and the BJP has won 3 seats. The NDA has won a total number of 21 seats in AP.
