After the counting trends have shown that the BJP will be forming the government in Rajasthan; in his first reaction, Rajasthan Chief Minister, Ashok Gehlot, taking to X (formerly Twitter), said, ‘We humbly accept the mandate given by the people of Rajasthan. This is an unexpected result for everyone, and this defeat shows that we were not completely successful in taking our plans, laws, and innovations to the public’

‘I wish the new government all the best, and my advice to them is that despite working hard, we were not successful, it does not mean that they should not work after coming to power. All the schemes including OPS, Chiranjeevi, and the pace of development that we have given to Rajasthan in these five years should be taken forward.’, added Gehlot.

He further stated, ‘I thank all the Congress workers who worked hard in this election and express my gratitude to all the voters who believed in us.’

Gehlot will handover his resignation to Governor Kalraj Mishra on Sunday evening itself, and he is expected to meet the governor at 5.30 PM.

Currently, the BJP has won 72 seats in Rajasthan, and is leading on 43 more; and on the other hand, the Congress has won 40 seats, and is leading on 29 of them.
