69 stolen mobiles worth 20 lakhs recovered, mastermind nabbed in Rajasthan

On Monday, the Ajmer district police team made revelations about such a mobile thief’s gang, which reached the state from Jharkhand, especially to commit crimes during the competitive exams being conducted here. As soon the examination got over, the gang members, taking advantage of the crowd, would steal mobile phones. The stolen mobile phones were being sold in Bangladesh so that the police could not track the same. The police have recovered 69 mobile phones worth around 20 lakh rupees, after they arrested the gang’s mastermind and 4 others, among which were also 9 iPhones worth 1 lakh rupees each.

On 16th December, Deputy Mayor Neeraj Jain’s iPhone was stolen as well, and the police have recovered this phone from the gang also. All the accused were produced in the vacation court, from where they were sent to prison. According to station in-charge, Dalbir Singh, Dhanbad’s Sanjay Kumar Naunia, Ramdarshan Kurmi, Gopal Kumar Mehto, Jagdeesh Mehto, and Pawan Kumar Yadav are the ones arrested.

The accused were nabbed from near the DRM Office, Ajmer city, and they were arrested with the help of the district police’s DST and cyber cell.
