He is still fondly remembered as the ‘thinking artist’, and throughout his career, he had worked in several mediums including oil painting, plastic emulsion, etc.

This non-commercial exhibition is being hosted by Bhanumati Padamsee, the wife of the Late artist, who is an artist herself. Speaking to GoaChronicle, Bhanumati said that Akbar was somebody who loved drawing and instantly got to drawing whenever he got the inspiration to. Talking about the Late artist’s obsession with human faces, she mentioned that for him, people’s faces were a reflection of what he saw in them.

Recalling old times, Bhanumati added how Akbar was of the opinion that, “I am interested in how the world expresses itself to me, and I would have nothing to say if the world did not speak to me first”.
