There is no shortage of workers in the country, but because of skills required by industries being absent, 75% of the companies have said that they are not getting workers. As per a report from Team Lease, in this rapidly changing world, there is a huge lack of technically skilled workers, and in India, 3 crore digitally skilled workers will be required by the year 2026. And the professionals who are working currently will have to get digitally skilled.

Not doing so will prove to be detrimental for them in two ways. Firstly, they could lose their jobs, and secondly, the situation of them not being promoted can also emerge. Team Lease, on the basis of statistics from the last year, has stated that 31% of the workers who got themselves skilled while doing their jobs, received 25% more salary hike along with promotions, and this situation was seen to be similar in all the industries. Making the workers skilled as per their needs is among the prominent agenda of companies, because as per the companies, if this is not done, they may lag behind in the markets.

It is noteworthy that if the employed are not skilled, then growth is certain to stop. According to Team Lease, there is an increasing want of skilled workers in India, while the world is increasing its focus on skill development.
