Hyderabad: Working president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), K T Rama Rao (KTR), launched a scathing attack on the Congress party, accusing it of a chronic pattern of betraying public trust and failing to deliver on promises.

The criticism took place during the Khammam parliamentary segment meeting held at Telangana Bhavan here on Tuesday.

Addressing the gathering, KTR highlighted the Congress’s history of short-lived public trust, citing examples such as the 1989 assembly elections, where they won against the TDP but lost heavily in the immediate Lok Sabha elections. He emphasised that this pattern of broken promises and losing people’s mandates is deeply ingrained in Congress.

KTR criticied the Congress government’s one-month performance, alleging negligence in implementing poll promises made to SC, ST, BC, and other communities, predicting growing public dissatisfaction.

In contrast, KTR underscored the BRS’s commitment to action and service under KCR’s leadership. He pointed to numerous welfare schemes as evidence of prioritising the aspirations of the people.

Outlining the party’s action plan for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, KTR mentioned that KCR would start meeting the public in February. He also stated that party state and district committees would be established, conducting comprehensive reviews every two to three months, including detailed assessments of assembly constituencies.

KTR reminded the party cadre of the fighting spirit and KCR’s ability to advocate for the Telangana people’s aspirations. He emphasised the power of the three-letter word ‘KCR’ over the two-letter word ‘CM’ and stressed the responsibility to safeguard Telangana’s achievements and development by securing victory in the upcoming elections.
