Indian boys leave for Argentina to attend Under-19 World Cup

Shimla: Indian boys on Monday left for Sanjon, Argentina, to attend the Under-19 World Cup championship.

The head coach of the team, Satish Sharma, told UNI for the departure of the team on Monday that the Indian team would return with a medal in the World Championship this time.

This World championship is being organised by the Federation Internationale de Volleyball.

The Indian volleyball team would participate in the World Championship to be held in Sanjon, Argentina, from August 2 to 11.

Earlier, the training camp of the Indian team was held from July 15 to 30 at the Sardar Patel Sports Complex of the Sports Authority of Gujarat, Bhavnagar.

He said that the team practised hard at better facilities. There is a lot of enthusiasm among the youth about the victory. Satish Sharma said that the Indian team is working hard in Gujarat.

He is hopeful that the young and talented boys team will return to India with medals.

The under-19 Indian volleyball team consists of Satish Sharma as head coach, Pramod Singh as assistant coach and PC Pandya as assistant coach.

Under the leadership of chief coach Satish Sharma, the Indian volleyball team, which went to perform on foreign soil, has been congratulated by the Director of Youth Services and Sports Department, Rajeev Kumar, Deputy Director Subodh Ramol, District Sports Officer Anurag Verma, and all the coaches of the department.

Team members include Gaurav Singh and Anuj Kumar Singh (Setters), Yuvraj Pratap Singh and Uday Bhanu Pratap Singh (Universal), A Runlin Gipson, Namit MN, and Digvijay Singh (Blocker), Mahendra Dhurve, Ravindra Pratap. Singh, Nicholas Chacko Thomas, Aditya Damhe (attacker) and J. Jeevan Kumar (Libro).
