Chennai: A new Low Pressure area will form over Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining Andaman Sea in the next 24 hrs which will bring heavy rainfall in coastal districts of Tamil Nadu from November 20 as the system is expected to concentrate into a Depression.
Met office today said a cyclonic circulation lies over south Andaman Sea and neighbourhood and extends upto middle tropospheric levels. Under its influence, a Low pressure area is likely to form over Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining Andaman Sea during the next 24 hrs. It is likely to move west-northwestwards and gradually concentrate into a Depression over central parts of South Bay of Bengal around November 18.
Under its influence; widespread rainfall with heavy falls is very likely at isolated places over Andaman & Nicobar Islands for the next two days. Squally weather with wind speed ranging from 40-45 kmph and gusting to 55 kmph is likely to prevail over south Andaman Sea and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal, over Southeast Bay of Bengal tomorrow and
over Southeast and adjoining Southwest and Central Bay of Bengal on November 18.
Squally winds with speed reaching 45-55 kmph and gusting to 65 kmph is likely over Westcentral and adjoining Southwest Bay of Bengal and squally weather with wind speed reaching 40-45 kmph and gusting to 55 kmph is likely to prevail over Southeast and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal and Sri Lanka coast on November 19 and over Southeast Bay of Bengal and along and off Tamil Nadu and Puducherry coasts on November 20.
Fishermen are advised not to venture into Andaman Sea & adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal for the next two days, Southwest and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal along and off Sri Lanka coast on November 18 and 19 and along and off Tamil Nadu-Puducherry
coasts on November 20 and 21.
