As per reports, the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance government of the state of Maharashtra is expected to announce the names of the officers who will resume the probe in the mysterious death case of Disha Salian, who was the former manager of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, and was also found dead under suspicious circumstances. It is being expected that the government will announce the name of the investigating officers in the legislative assembly.
As per the latest updates, a high panel will be formed, and DIG rank officials are expected to supervise the SIT probe into the case. On the other hand, some MLAs in the state have been demanding that Aditya Thackeray is inquired in the case.
As per the Mumbai police, it was on June 8, 2020, that Disha Salian committed suicide, jumping from the 14th floor of a high-rise in Mumbai’s Malad area, but several discrepancies were found in the claims the police had made. Then, in August 2020, a sensational revelation was made in Disha’s autopsy report, which had not been divulged by the Mumbai police earlier. It said that there were no clothes on Salian’s body when she was found dead.
It is also noteworthy that Disha’s post mortem was conducted two days after her death, as while she had died on the night of 8-9 June, 2020, documents show that the autopsy was conducted on June 11, 2020. Later, in September 2020, it had also been alleged that Disha was gang-raped in the party which she attended on June 8, 2020. Disha’s then fiancé, Rohan Rai, was also present at this party.
However, Disha’s parents had then rubbished the gang-rape claims, and in February 2022, filed a complaint against Union Minister Narayan Rane, and his son, Nitesh Rane, accusing them of assassinating Disha’s character.
In another interesting turn of events and revelations in the mysterious death case, it was in March 2022, that Nitesh Rane had claimed that he had a pen-drive, and had prepared a transcript of an eyewitness testimony of Salian’s gang-rape and alleged murder. Rane had also stated that a state minister is involved in the crime.
Now, after the reports of a probing team to be formed in the case, speaking with Republic, Disha Salian’s father, Satish Salian, has said that Disha did not commit suicide, but was murdered. Raising doubts over the tampering of evidence, he said he did not know whether that had happened because the incident took place in Malad, and he was in Dadar. Satish has demanded a thorough probe into the matter.
With all the twists and turns in the case, GoaChronicle had raised questions over the suspicious death of Disha Salian, and now, the whole nation will keep a close watch on the latest developments, to find out whether the doubts and questions revolving around this case, and around that of Sushant Singh Rajput’s mysterious death, are answered.
