Kolkata: Mystery shrouded the discovery of the body of BJP IT cell Convener Prithviraj Naskar at the party office at S 24 Pargana.

Naskar has been missing since November 4 at Usti under Mathurapur of South 24 Parganas district, official sources said on Saturday.

The body of Naskar was recovered from the BJP party office on Friday evening after remaining missing for the last four days, Police said.

The body, which had marks of injuries, was sent for a postmortem on Saturday.

Amarendra Naskar, the father of the victim, alleged it was a political murder and said his son had received threats during Durga Puja for putting up posters “Justice of Abhaya,” a lady doctor who was raped and murdered at the RG Kar Hospital on August 9.

Amarendra alleged that one TMC leader had threatened his son for putting up posters for ” justice of Abhaya”.

Local TMC leader Imran Hasan, however, said the BJP was involved in infighting and asked why the body was found in the BJP office.

Police began an investigation into the death, even as the BJP demanded that the autopsy should be done at a central government-owned hospital.
