Rohit breaks silence over his ODI retirement

Dubai: India cricket captain Rohit Sharma on Sunday broke his silence over his retirement from One Day Internationals (ODIs) by stating, “Koi future plan hai nahi, jo chal raha hai chalega”* (No future plan, whatever is happening will continue).”

Rohit made these comments when his was asked about his future in the 50-over format in post-match press conference.

Rohit’s remarks come at a time when his role in India’s white-ball setup is under scrutiny, with the team transitioning towards the next phase of international cricket. As a leader across formats, his availability for upcoming ODI tournaments, including the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, remains a subject of keen interest among fans and experts alike.

Rohit, who led India to a thrilling four-wicket victory over New Zealand in the Champions Trophy final today, continues to be a pivotal figure in the squad.
