Bengaluru: Ad hoc State JDS President HD Kumaraswamy on Tuesday called Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah a reincarnation of Mir Sadiq and blamed him for bringing down JDS-Congress coalition government.

“You are the reincarnation of Mir Sadiq … Are you afraid of speaking the truth? Come out in the open and say that you are the one who brought down the JDS-Congress coalition government. Don’t you have strength? Don’t I know your conspiracies?” he asked.

Mir Sadiq is a symbol of a traitor who was a minister in Tipu Sultan’s rule who conspired with the British.

Countering Kumaraswamy’s remarks, Siddaramaiah on Monday said the JDS leader was making allegations in vain. “It is like one who cannot dance and blames the stage. Similarly his allegations are in vain,” he said.

Also reacting to Kumaraswamy’s criticism of him watching Australia–Pakistan World Cup match at Chinnaswamy stadium, Siddaramaiah said he did it to support the sport. “But why was he (Kumaraswamy) staying in the West End Hotel during his tenure as the CM?” he asked.

He also stated that Siddaramaiah and cabinet colleagues had gone there to support the Pakistan cricket team.

Kumaraswamy said he had explained the reason for his stay at the West End many times, but Siddaramaiah should come out in the open to talk about his conspiracies.
