Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee continues to be critical and on a life support system, the All India Institute for Medical Sciences said on Thursday in the latest bulletin on his health.

After Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several Union Ministers including Piyush Goyal , Smriti Irani and Suresh Prabhu visited the premier hospital on Wednesday, Thursday saw the visit by Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu, veteran BJP leader L K Advani and his daughter Pratibha Advani, BJP president Amit Shah, Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Science and Environment Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan, MoS in PMO Jitendra Singh and MoS Health Ashwini Kumar Choubey to the All India Institutes of Medical Sciences here to enquire about former Prime Minister’s health.
Senior BJP leader M M Joshi and Extternal Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj also visited AIIMS.

Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who was part of NDA ministry under Mr Vajpayee, tweeted, saying his prayers are with “Vajpayee sahib and his family tonight.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who also served in the Vajpayee cabinet, may also visit Delhi and arrive at AIIMS, sources said.

According to AIIMS doctors, the BJP veteran is on life support system as his condition deteriorated on Wednesday.

Vajpayee was admitted to hospital on June 11 due to urinary track infection and other problems.

Prime Minister Modi is again expected to visit AIIMS on Thursday.

The party has suspended all its official programmes.
