Panaji: The amã Stays & Trails Villa, Siolim, Goa, which is a new concept of homestays from the Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), has been recognized as ‘Villa of the Year’ by MakeMyTrip at the recently held India’s Favourite Homestays Awards (IFHA) at the Taj Resort & Convention Centre, Dona Paula. The IFHA is a people choice award to recognize and reward the growing community of homestays hosts in the domestic travel market.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Vincent Ramos, Senior Vice President – Goa for IHCL said, “We are humbled and honoured to receive this prestigious recognition. The homestay segment has indeed picked momentum post the pandemic with a strong preference for private stays and locally imbibed experiences. amã Stays & Trails is India’s first branded product in the home stay market, we currently have 9 villas in Goa and are working towards expanding the brand in the state with new additions to the portfolio.”

Built in the 1940s, Villa Siolim is located in North Goa, in the pristine village of Siolim. A charming five bedroom villa that combines the Goan-Portuguese architecture of a bygone era and modern comforts to provide a home-like indulgence. Surrounded by manicured lawns, paved walkways and slanted red tiled roofs with exposed beam ceilings, this magnificent marvel welcomes its guests at a latticed veranda. Wooden doors, arches and vintage tiles complement the contemporary amenities while modish decor and chic furnishings create a comforting space.

Additionally, amã Stays & Trails Amibika Vilas, Trivandrum in Kerela won ‘Heritage Homestay of the Year’. To be held annually, the IFHA is India’s first traveller choice award exclusively conceptualized for homestay properties and hosts by MakeMyTrip, a pioneer in India’s online travel industry. The awardee is chosen through a combination of jury assessment and consumer votes.
