Hyderabad: Amid chaotic scenes, police resorted to lathicharge to disperse hundreds of cricket fans who have gathered to purchase tickets at Gymkhana ground in Secunderabad on Thursday for the third T20I match between India and Australia scheduled to be held at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Uppal on Sunday.

At least 30 people, including 10 policemen were injured, and many others fell unconscious on the ground in the jostling.

The injured were shifted to the nearby hospitals.

The grounds were littered with scores of footwear as the fans fled in panic.

Serpentine queues of cricket lovers were formed since early morning at the ground to buy tickets for the third T20 match.

The irate fans raised angry slogans against the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) when the tickets were not issued promptly following which the HCA has summoned the police.
