4.78 lakh children sing bhajans in one voice for 15.32 minutes

On 2nd October, on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, 4.78 lakh children from 1863 government and 1337 private schools (a total of 3200 schools), across Ajmer district in Rajasthan presented the bhajans based on Gandhi Darshan together, in one voice, at 9 AM in the morning. The first bhajan, ‘De di humein aazadi’, was 6.18-minute long, the second, ‘Vaishnav jan to tene kahiye je’, was 5 minutes long, and the third, ‘Dharma wo hi ek sachha’, was 4.14 minutes long.

All the 3 bhajans were sung without a break for a total of 15.32 minutes. Not only in the district, but such a programme was organized for the first time in the state of Rajasthan on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. It is noteworthy that this activity has registered Ajmer district’s name in the Limca Book of Records. Further, a programme was also organized by the tourism and culture department in Ajmer city’s Chandravardai Stadium, in which 5000 children from 30 schools sang bhajans.

The preparations for these celebrations were made in 1 week. Along with this, a 25-feet long ‘Gandhi Galiyara’ was also made in the Chandravardai Stadium, which showcases Gandhi’s journey from birth till death through photos, thoughts, and writings, etc. This aisle made Gandhi- Darshan possible in a way, which also displayed information about Gandhi- darshan using 20 huge flex boards.
