Bagging a job in Saudi Arabia, which is also known as the ‘dream job destination’ for Indian engineers is now going to get a little difficult. The engineers aspiring to work there will now have to get professional accreditation from the Saudi Council of Engineers, for which the aspirants can visit the official website of the Saudi Council of Engineers, eservices.saudieng.sa, in order to get their pre-registration done.
The information about this new development was given out by the All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), on Monday, which is India’s regulatory body for technical education. The AICTE has asked the vice-chancellors of technical universities, and all heads of AICTE approved institutions to ensure that the information reaches the students who want to go to Saudi Arabia.
The official AICTE notification stated, “The Council has received a communication from Joint Secretary, Ministry of External Affairs, regarding mandatory professional accreditation with Saudi Council of Engineers for engineers who intend to work in Saudi Arabia. As per the decision taken by the govt of Saudi Arabia, engineers cannot work in Saudi Arabia unless professional accreditation has been obtained from Saudi Council of Engineers”.
