Rishabh Pant injured in road accident, condition stable

Dehradun: Indian cricket team’s star cricketer Rishabh Pant was injured in a road accident in Roorkee of Uttarakhand’s Haridwar district on Friday morning.

The accident took place after the car hit the divider, following which the car caught fire. He was brought to Max Hospital in Dehradun in injured condition.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has wished him a speedy recovery.

According to police sources, Rishabh was coming from Delhi to his home in Roorkee in a Mercedes car. His car ran out of control and crashed into the divider near Mohammadpur Jat in Kotwali Mangalore area around 5.30 am today.

After hitting the divider, the car caught fire. Somehow, the cricketer and another person, including the driver sitting next to him, were pulled out of the car and the injured were taken to Siksham Hospital in Roorkee with the help of the police.

Chairman of the hospital Dr Sushil Nagar said the condition of Rishabh Pant is currently stable.

According to doctors, Rishabh has injuries on his forehead and leg. He has been referred to Max Hospital in Dehradun from Roorkee. He will have plastic surgery there.

CM Dhami has taken information from the authorities about injured Rishabh and has given instructions to ensure all possible arrangements for his proper treatment. Wishing Rishabh a speedy recovery, he said all the expenses of his treatment would be borne by the state government. Air ambulance will also be arranged if required.
