Govt schools in rural areas showed tremendous performance this year: Principal Secretary SED

Srinagar: Soon after declaration of results of Class 12th, Principal Secretary Jammu and Kashmir School Education Department Alok Kumar Friday said that government schools in rural areas have showed tremendous performance this year due to implementation of uniform academic calendar in both divisions.

“Government schools in rural areas have shown tremendous performance this year and we hope it will improve in coming years,” Kumar exclusively told to media. He also said that it was first time when exams were conducted together in both divisions of J&K under uniform academic calendar.

Kumar said that unlike past, students appeared throughout the year this time which gave an edge in the performance of students.

“The result of Class 12th is out with 65 percent. It is a good trend. I congratulate all students who have been passed and their parents and teachers for this success,” Kumar said.

He also said that exams were conducted in a fair manner, while in past some incidents of paper leak happened wrongly.

Class 12th results were declared today evening with of 64 percent pass percentage. Around 1,27,636 students had appeared in exams of which 82,441 have qualified it.

The exam was conducted at 1,255 centre’s established across the Soft and Hard Zone areas identified in both zones. Girls have excelled again by scoring a higher pass percentage against boys.
