Cyclone Biparjoy is entering the Saurashtra-Kutch coastal districts while heavy rainfall in the affected areas of Gujarat continues, and the landfall process of the cyclone which has begun with the same, will be completed by midnight. As the cyclone moves ahead, the rainfall and its windspeed is increasing steadily, and it is expected that the intensity of the tidal waves will also increase slowly now. Currently, the windspeed seen around the Saurashtra and Kutch coastal districts is around 60-80 KMPH, which will increase to 115-125 KMPH.

As per the IMD, this period from now on till midnight is the most dangerous as far as the impact of Biparjoy is concerned.

In the IMD’s news briefing, it has been told that the landfall process of Biparjoy is taking more time because the eye of the cyclone is quite large, with its diameter being almost 50 KM. The current windspeed of the cyclone is 115-140 KM/hour, with which it will hit the Jakhau Port of Gujarat, and is currently around 70 KM away from the same, in the Arabian Sea, and the cyclone is moving at a speed of 15 KMPH. The IMD has issued a warning to the people residing in the affected areas that they should not venture outside and should remain in safe places, along with keeping a tab on the advisories and warnings issued by the concerned agencies of the Indian government and the IMD.
