New Delhi: Delhi continues to reel under the “severe category” as the overall air quality index recorded at 418 on Wednesday morning.

According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the AQI in Anand Vihar was recorded at 452, in RK Puram at 433, in Punjabi Bagh at 460 and in ITO at 413, Narela (448), Bawana (462), Anand Vihar (452), and Rohini (451).

The situation isn’t any better in Noida, Gurugram and other surrounding cities. Noida average AQI was 409, Gurugram 370, Faridabad (396), and Ghaziabad (382).

Meanwhile, Delhi’s Environment Minister Gopal Rai called a meeting on Wednesday to discuss the implementation of Supreme Court observations on an odd-even car rationing scheme.

As per the IMD, the city woke up to shallow fog in the morning, and the sky will become partially clear towards the afternoon and evening. The maximum and minimum temperatures would be around 31 and 16 degrees Celsius respectively.

As the situation worsens, Arvind Kejriwal recommended the suspension of Delhi Pollution Control Committee Chairman Ashwani Kumar for allegedly stopping a study to ascertain pollution sources in Delhi.
