Shimla: Former Chief Minister Jairam Thakur said the government has appointed six CPS, disregarding the apex court orders, and Himachal Pradesh High rejected its plea to dismiss petitions filed against the appointment before the court Tuesday.

The Leader of Opposition said in a statement issued Tuesday that the HP High Court has rejected the appeal of the State Government on Wednesday, in which the petition filed by the BJP MLAs against the CPS was not maintained by the Sukhu Government.

Jairam Thakur said this big victory by the opposition was a major setback to the government at the very beginning of the legal battle on the front.

He said despite having an army of advisors, the Chief Minister was the victim of wrong advice in this matter.

He accused the Congress leader of deliberately putting the political future of his friends at risk or in jeopardy.

Terming Tuesday’s HC decision about the maintenance of a court case (filled before the court by its MLA) as a blow to the government, he said the appointments of CPS are deepening the political equation in the ruling party.

He said despite the clear orders of the apex court, this decision by the government to appoint CPS was completely surprising.

The Leader of Opposition said Chief Minister Sukhwinder Sukhu has put CPS on six MLAs. These include Mohan Lal Brakta from Rohru, Sunder Singh Thakur from Kullu, MLA Sanjay Awasthi from Arki, Ram Kumar Chaudhary from Doon, Ashish Butail from Palampur, and Kishori Lal from Baijnath.

The government has provided them with facilities ranging from offices to vehicles, among others.
