Hyderabad: The inaugural journey of the “Divya Dakshin Yatra with Jyotirlinga” Southern Circuit Train, along with the 10th Bharat Gaurav Train, embarked on its voyage from Secunderabad on Wednesday.

The Bharat Gaurav Trains operated by the South Central Railways have consistently garnered significant attention from railway users. Encouraged by the enthusiastic response from rail passengers, the Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has unveiled a novel tourist circuit named “Divya Dakshin Yatra with Jyotirlinga” during the auspicious Shravan Month.

The Southern Tourist Circuit Train presents a unique opportunity for pilgrim passengers hailing from the two Telugu states to explore crucial pilgrimage and tourist destinations in the Southern states of Tamil Nadu and Kerala. The train set off on its maiden voyage from the Secunderabad Railway station on Wednesday.

The first “Divya Dakshin Yatra” and the tenth Bharat Gaurav Train under the South Central Railways’ purview commenced their journey with the presence of Smt. Seema Upadhyay, a resident of Lucknow, who traveled all the way from Lucknow to Secunderabad to participate in the “Divya Dakshin Yatra.”

P. Rajkumar, the Group General Manager of IRCTC, alongside other IRCTC officials, graced the occasion with their presence.

The “Divya Dakshin Yatra with Jyotirlinga ‘ offers a distinct opportunity to all rail passengers from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh to seek blessings at one of the Jyotirlingas (Rameshwaram).

Simultaneously, it covers significant pilgrim and tourist sites including Tiruvannamalai (Arunachalam), Madurai, Kanyakumari, Trivandrum, Trichy, and Thanjavur. Importantly, the train facilitates boarding and de-boarding at multiple stations including Secunderabad, Kazipet, Warangal, and Khammam in Telangana, as well as Vijayawada, Tenali, Ongole, Nellore, Gudur, and Renigunta in Andhra Pradesh. The entire journey spans 8 nights and 9 days.

The train accommodates both AC and Non-AC passengers with a diverse composition of 2 AC (1), 3 AC (3), and Sleeper (7) coaches.

Evidencing the popularity across all segments, rail passengers from Secunderabad Station and intermediate stations have made use of both AC and Non-AC train services, the SCR authorities said.
