Sangli (Maharashtra): Renowned Marathi-Hindi film actress Suhas Joshi has been selected for this year’s prestigious “Vishnudas Bhave Purskar” on behalf of Akhil Bhartiya Natya Vidhyamandir Committee (ABNVC), Sangli, Maharashtra, a statement said.
Sharad Karale, ABNVC president, said that Joshi has been selected for her outstanding contribution to theatre, Marathi-Hindi films and TV serials as an actor, singer and director, besides training children in acting.
Among other things, the award carries Rs 25,000 in cash, shawl and a gold-plated ‘Manchinha’. The award distribution function will be held on November 5.
Karale said that Joshi has acted in 25 Marathi plays including Natsamrat, Anandi Gopal, Premanand Tuza Rang Ksa, Agnipankh, Doctor Tumhi Suddha and others.
She has also acted in Marathi films like Tu Tithe Mi, Anandi Anand, Mumbai-Pune-Mumbai and others.
