Thrissur: Metro Food Awards, known as the most esteemed award function in the food and beverage sector, has marked a pivotal moment as the first of its kind in the city, showcasing Thrissur’s vibrant food and beverage scene to a wider audience.
Talking to UNI, Metro Mart Managing Director Siji Nair said Metro Mart, in collaboration with the Kerala Tourism Department, the Thrissur Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the South Kerala Hoteliers Forum, and the South India Hotels and Restaurant Association, presented the prestigious Metro Food Awards to recognize and celebrate the outstanding restaurants and food brands in Thrissur.
The highly anticipated event, selecting and honoring the best restaurants across various cities in India, was inaugurated by Thrissur MLA P Balachandran on June 11 at at Hotel Garuda International.
This renowned event aims to address the lack of recognition for the food business, focusing on restaurants, by highlighting their professionalism and dynamism.
This year’s awards were unique in that they offered diners the opportunity to vote and acknowledge the efforts of culinary experts who consistently deliver exceptional food and dining experiences.
The event witnessed the presence of esteemed personalities from the Thrissur Chamber of Commerce and Industries, including Secretary Geegee George, Milma Director Bhaskaran, Managing Director of Metro Mart Siji Nair, and several leaders from the hospitality industry.
Beyond the scope of conventional business categories, the Metro Food Awards hold a deeper significance as a platform to recognize and promote the culinary industry while contributing to brand-building within the sector.
