Hyderabad: Pralhad Joshi, Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution & New and Renewable Energy, strongly criticized Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for not attending the NITI Aayog meeting held in New Delhi.

Joshi, who was in the city to discuss issues with state BJP leaders, told the media on Saturday at the BJP party state headquarters that the Chief Minister should attend the meeting if he has any problems.

He praised the Modi government for introducing a commendable budget under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, highlighting several schemes aimed at benefiting the poor.

He emphasized that the budget prioritized the welfare of the poor, including provisions for the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for farmers and the Garib Kalyan Yojana, which he claimed was the largest food security scheme in the world.

Joshi mentioned that the budget gave priority to manufacturing, agriculture, and youth employment. He criticized the previous BRS government for not implementing the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in the state.

He explained that the central government had prioritized creating infrastructure across all states, allocating more than Rs 5,000 crore to Telangana in the railway budget this year.

Additionally, he stated that Rs 48,000 crore worth of road projects are underway in Telangana, with the potential for further expansion if the state government allocates land.

Joshi commented on the broader economic goals, stating that the government is working to make India the third-largest economic power in the world.

He contrasted the current NDA government’s efforts with the previous Congress regime, noting that only Rs 5,000 to Rs 6,000 crore in grants were allocated to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana during the Congress tenure, while the NDA government has provided Rs 26,000 crore in grants.

He suggested that the Congress government should focus on the development of Telangana and warned that the people would hold them accountable for their actions.

Joshi urged the Revanth Reddy government to correct its mistakes, emphasizing the need for progress and development in the state.
