Mumbai: The BSE Sensex on Thursday bounced back by 218 points at 38,289.42 as buying was seen in Technology, IT, Telecom and Health Care stocks.
The Nifty of National Stock Exchange rose by 60.20 points to 11,263.05.
The sectoral indices include IT, Telecom and Technology stocks lifted the market.
The Mid Cap moved up by 0.31 per cent and Small Cap by 0.45 per cent.
In 30 scrips,21 advanced while nine declined.
The gainers were TCS by 2.57 per cent to Rs 2333.45, HCL Technologies by 2.43 per cent to Rs 710.80, Asian Paints by 1.99 per cent to Rs 1772 and Tech Mahindra by 1.49 per cent to Rs 685.95.
The losers were Indusind Bank by 2.14 per cent to Rs 539, Sun Pharma by 0.73 per cent to Rs 489.40, Powergrid by 0.72 per cent to Rs 180.50 and Kotak Bank by 0.73 per cent to Rs 1379.55.
