Mahabubnagar: BJP, led by its President and Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy held a rally on Monday demanding double bed-room houses in Mahabubnagar, also known as Palamuru.

Addressing the large gathering, Kishan Reddy said Palamuru has a history of being a platform for dynamic public movements since its inception.

During the Telangana movement, the BJP’s victory in this region made the Congress government in Delhi apprehensive.

Under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, the central government has successfully built over 4 crore houses across the country.

In Telangana, there is a pressing need to provide homes for the poor and those from marginalised sections who are currently homeless.

Prime Minister Modi emphasised this responsibility to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), but the progress on providing houses for the poor in the last nine years has been unsatisfactory.

Kishan Reddy also highlighted the discrepancy in allocating land for political party buildings while neglecting the housing needs of the poor in Palamuru. He raised concerns about the lack of progress in issuing new ration cards, pensions, and unemployment benefits by the state government.

Additionally, the Union Minister pointed out the unfulfilled promises made by the current government, including free medical care from KG to PG, the construction of hospitals, a farmer loan waiver, and support for farmers with fertilisers and interest-free loans.

Kishan Reddy criticised the state government’s policies, especially the increase in debt and the proliferation of liquor shops, which tarnished the image of the state as a “golden Telangana.”

He called for a change in Telangana, urging the public to vote for the BJP in the upcoming election and defeat the parties that have failed to address crucial issues and have opposed national initiatives such as the construction of Ram Mandir and the implementation of the common civil code.
