Around a week after the much talked-about Kripal Singh murder case, Bharatpur police nabbed, on Sunday, the prime accused in the case, Kuldeep Jaghina and 5 other culprits. Kuldeep’s father, Kunwarjeet, and 3 others were caught earlier. A total of 8 culprits have been arrested till now, while search for the others is still continuing.

The police have claimed that in order to catch gangster Kuldeep and his accomplices, the team led by Kumher police-station in-charge, Himanshu Singh Rajawat, had to run a distance of around 4, 000 km in 3 days. Following the criminals from Indore, and with the assistance of Maharashtra’s Kolhapur police, the team got hold of them near Goa.

The accused who were arrested on Sunday are 28-year-olds Kuldeep, Vishwendra Singh, Rahul, Vijaypal Singh alias Bhura, and 22-year-old Prabhav Singh alias Bhola. All of them had a price of Rs. 5, 000 announced on their heads. Rather than bringing them out in the open, in front of the media, the police released their photos and videos.

SP Shyam Singh informed the media that the reason behind the murder was a land-property dispute.

On September 4th, history-sheeter Kripal Singh was shot 7 times by a group of 12 men, while travelling in his car. According to the police, a dispute over illegal land encroachments between two groups led to the murder of Singh who was close to politicians across party lines. Kripal Singh has as many as 11 cases pending against him in different police stations.
