Just till a few days back, up until the resignation of former Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, the so-called ‘peaceful’ protest, helmed by the ‘Cockroach Janta Party’, and its leaders like Abhijeet Dipke, Vijeta Dahiya, and Saurav Das, was being talked about all over social media and mainstream news media. But yet again, when students’ future became a topic of major concern in a particular part of the country, these biggest contemporary flagbearers of students’ rights are nowhere to be seen.
It has been 13 days since students are protesting at the Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium in Jharkhand’s Ranchi, against alleged irregularities in various recruitment examinations, including those conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC), and the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC). The protestors have been demanding a CBI investigation into the alleged irregularities in JPSC, JSSC, and other recruitment examinations, legal action against the involved individuals, and increased transparency in the recruitment process.
While the protest in Ranchi continues, the contrast between this particular demonstration and the CJP-led Jantar Mantar ‘protest’ is drastic. When the Jantar Mantar protest was being carried out, all we could hear in public discourse was how ‘poor students were being wronged’ by a ‘fascist government’, and the ‘dictator’ who is Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Even when these ‘peaceful’ protestors pelted stones on Delhi police and RAF personnel, brandished swords at them, damaged national property, hurled the most atrocious abuses towards the democratically elected PM of the country, and abused Hinduism and its deities; the left-liberal lobby of the country relentlessly supported the so-called ‘revolutionary movement’- from the political opposition to Bollywood actors and repeat offenders like Kunal Kamra- all the known opposers of the ruling regime at the centre and Hindu-haters became a part of the ‘protest’ and demanded Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation.
On the other hand, no reports of anarchy, violence, abuses being hurled, aspersions being cast, or anti-Hindu comments being made have come from Jharkhand, and yet, Abhijeet Dipke, Vijeta Dahiya, or Saurav Das cannot be seen anywhere even near the protest site. How difficult is it for them to catch the next flight to Ranchi and show solidarity with the students sitting on dharna there? If Dipke could fly from the USA to New Delhi, what is making him delay his visit to Ranchi?
While Sonam Wangchuk became the star-face of the Jantar Mantar protest, with his hunger-strike and constant presence at the site, alongside Dipke and other ‘cockroaches’, what is stopping him from raising his voice with the same intent for the students in Jharkhand? That too when following his lead, not one or two but six people are carrying out a hunger strike in Ranchi! Why is it that not a single Bollywood actor, who vociferously spoke about the Delhi protest, has uttered a single word for the students in Jharkhand? Is Sonam Wangchuk’s hunger more painful than that of Devendra Nath Mahto?
Is Jharkhand not a part of the country or does the future of Jharkhand’s students not seem important to these people? What caused this selective activism to take shape? If Delhi needed these individuals’ support and solidarity, does Jharkhand not need them as well?
Or is it because the protest site at Ranchi does not feed their usual deplorable political and anti-Hindu propaganda, with songs like ‘Bas Naam Rahega Allah Ka’ not being sung, and the absence of detestable comments like ‘Sita Ka Pati’, that these people have absolutely zero interest in highlighting the issue coming out of Jharkhand?
Is it because Jharkhand is not a BJP-ruled state and hence, does not fit the political toolkit of such protestors, that the star boy of Jantar Mantar, the messiah of the ‘hungry’ protestors, Muhammad Junaid, does not go to Ranchi and start feeding meals to the students there?
Such selective-activism and hypocrisy of the left-liberal cabal of this country, even though repeated innumerable times, showcases how yet another genuine cause, that of the students from Jharkhand, has fallen prey to the brazen double-standards of these leftists, who decide, as per their convenience and personal whims and fancies, as to who and what needs attention and support, based on whether it would help them push their propaganda and political narrative further.
And no matter how genuine the Jharkhand protest may be, it will never get the amount of attention on social and news media, people will not talk about the students sitting on dharna there, and will not discuss why the hunger-strike there should be highlighted as much as that of Wangchuk, because it does not help the liberals achieve their ulterior motive- to wreak havoc right in the capital of the country, to hold the government hostage, and unleash anarchy!
