A new era of data revolution has come up with the commencement of 5G services in the country. On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched 5G services in the country by just pressing a button at the Indian Mobile Congress, held at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. Airtel has started it first in 8 cities- Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Varanasi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Siliguri, and Kolkata. He said that 5G is the beginning of the endless skies of opportunities.

Trying out the 5G network demo, PM Modi, sitting in Delhi, operated a car in Sweden physically.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Reliance Industries, Mukesh Ambani has said that by December 2023, 5G services will reach every corner of the country. On the other hand, Airtel plans to take 5G all over the country by March 2024. A senior official from Airtel said that currently, 5G services will be available at the rate of 4G, but later on, tariff charges can be increased.

Comparing 4G with 5G, 5G will provide an internet speed which will be 30 times faster and the coverage will be 250 times more. In March 2022, Jio’s 4G download speed was 21.1 MBPS, which was the highest. In 70 countries, 5G speed is 700 MBPS, and the highest speed is offered in South Korea, which is 1 GBPS. A total of 4000 devices can connect to a 4G network in an area of 1 km sq, on the other hand, up to 10 lakh devices can connect to a 5G network in the same area. 4G network has a latency of 50 milli-seconds, while in 5G, it will be only 1 milli-second. Which means that the co-ordination between the mobile phone and the network will augment by 4 times.

With 5G, a 2 GB movie will be downloaded in merely 20 seconds!
