New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday appealed to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi that the images of Mata Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha should be put on the newly printed currency.
Kejriwal in a press briefing said that Indonesia is a Muslim country and there are 85 percent Muslims and only 2 percent Hindus but there is a picture of Lord Ganeshji on the currency.
Kejriwal appealed to the Central government and said there should be an image of Mata Lakshmi ji and Ganesh ji on the currency with Mahatma Gandhi ji. The deteriorating economy of the country will be blessed-many. “There should be a picture of Lakshmi ji and Ganesh ji on the currency with Gandhi ji, the deteriorating economy of the country will be blessed-many steps should be taken, this is also one of them,” he added.
“I am not saying that only by doing this the economy will improve, a lot of effort needs to be done. We are not against anyone,” he added.
Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia also endorsed the idea of putting images of Maa Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha on printed currency.
Sisodia tweeted and wrote: “Maa Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha are symbols of prosperity. With his blessings, the country will prosper and move ahead and become number one.”
“Putting a picture of Maa Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha along with Mahatma Gandhi on Indian currency will prove to be auspicious for the whole country,” he added.
