The youth’s craze for the different wings of the Indian Army is augmenting by the day, as they are getting employment along with the opportunity to serve their country. In the last 5 years, more than 2 lakh youths have bagged employment in 6 wings of the Central Armed Police Forces. The Central Armed Police Forces include Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Forces (CRPF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBP), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), and Assam Rifles (AR).
As per the Home Ministry, the highest number of recruitments have been made in the CRPF in the last 5 years, with around 1, 13, 208 youths being joined into this wing. Similarly, 29, 243 youths in SSB, and 17, 482 youths were recruited in BSF. Another 12, 482 were recruited in CISF, 5, 965 in ITBP, and 5, 938 youths were recruited in AR. Till July 2022, 6509 in CRPF, 1625 in BSF, 1954 in SSB, 69 in CISF, and 229 in Assam Rifles were recruited.
In addition to this, around 84 thousand posts in the various wings of the Indian Army are still left to be filled, and the remaining recruitments will be made in the next 18 months.
