Festivals have their own importance, but in the current times, people tend to forget their grandeur and traditions in some places. During the two years when the COVID-19 crisis was at its peak, many people lost their near and dear ones. But now, festivals are bringing along an opportunity for everyone to forget the past and create new memories which can be cherished forever. It has been found out that celebrating festivals together reduces stress.

The One Pole Survey has revealed that during most of the festivals, parents are satisfied with the level of participation of their teenaged children in religious activities. But on the other hand, more than 1/3rd of the parents has confessed that they want their teenaged children to participate more in services and activities. 3 out of every 4, which is 75% of the parents also believe that by taking part in religious services, the teens get connected with their families’ history and traditions.

In a study conducted by the researchers of Michigan University, around half (48%) of the parents, who are planning to take part in festivities during this holiday season, are of the opinion that they will cajole their children to be a part of the same, even if the latter do not want to take part. It is a fact that teenagers find it stressful to celebrate festivals with their families, but the parents believe that the same improves relationships among the family members, and reduces stress. They believe that this helps to provide time to share each other’s sorrows, and this is the time which heals everything.

The survey also revealed that many youths participating in these programmes do so unwillingly, but 50% of the parents feel comfortable with children and teens. 44% of them say that children should take part in religious activities till they turn 18.
