As special court decided on 10 years of imprisonment for 3 people who assisted ‘gangster’ Dawood Ibrahim and his accomplices. Dawood and his accomplices were helped by JM Joshi and two others in the establishment of Dawood’s tobacco factory in Karachi, Pakistan. Related to this, special judge BD Shelke convicted Joshi, Zameeruddin Ansari, and Farooq Mansuri, under the MCOCA Act.

In this matter, another culprit was Manikchand Group’s Founder, Rasiklal Dhariwal, but after his death in 2017, he was absolved of the case. As a matter of fact, earlier, Rasiklal and JM Joshi used to run a tobacco trade together, but there erupted a conflict regarding money. It was said at that point in time that after getting separated from Dhariwal, Joshi started another tobacco company named Goa Tobacco.

In order to solve the matter, both of them took the help of Dawood Ibrahim, sitting in Pakistan. Dawood was ready to help on the condition of raising a tobacco factory in Pakistan too. The culprits were found to be guilty for establishing the factory, along with sending machines worth 2.64 lakhs to Pakistan, and forcefully sending an expert to set the factory up.
