Sonbhadra (UP): A case has been lodged against Congress worker for posting an alleged tampered video of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president JP Nadda on social media, police sources said here on Saturday.

Police sources said the FIR was lodged by BJP MLA from Sadar seat Bhupesh Chaubey at Robertsganj police station late on Friday night. “The BJP MLA has alleged that Lallan Kumar, who claims himself to be the state convener of Congress, posted a tampered video of the speech of BJP president JP Nadda on his verified Twitter and Facebook accounts on Friday around noon,” they said.

Police sources said Chaubey has stated that videos of Nadda’s speech during Jan Vishwas Yatra in Agartala (Tripura) are available on all media and social media platforms, but what Lallan Kumar has posted on social media has been tampered with. “He has alleged that it was an attempt to malign the image of the national president and the party. He has claimed that this act of Congress worker Lallan Kumar is highly indecent, condemnable, shameful and against the law.” they said.

Police sources said the Robertsganj police have lodged a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and IT Act.
