The habit of procrastination is adversely affecting people’s relationships, and is affecting their sleep. And the people who procrastinate feel lonely, and are falling prey to depression. This fact has come to the fore in a study conducted recently on the students of 8 universities including the Stockholm University. As per the study, the university students have a lot of freedom, but the habit of procrastination is affecting the education of 50% of the students.

This habit, many a times, destroys the personality of a good human being and his life achievements. Another research has revealed the habit of procrastination affects the mental and physical health. There are more chances of high level of stress developing among people who procrastinate, and this habit reduces self-confidence as well. For this study published in the Jama Network Open, 2587 students out of 3525 were asked answers of questions for nine months.

Many health-related tests were also done while the questions were asked. With this, it was found out that the chances of shoulder and arm pain, sleep-quality worsening, loneliness, and more economic difficulties were more among students who tend to procrastinate. But the good thing is that this habit can be done away with, as small changes in the daily routine can create huge impacts. For instance, staying away from the mobile for a whole and giving time to your own self, to take time out for yourself, and to find the reasons behind your habit of procrastination.
