New Delhi: The Supreme Court in its verdict on Thursday affirmed the Madras High Court’s order allowing Edappadi Palaniswami (EPS) to continue as AIADMK Interim General Secretary, and it rejected O Paneerselvam (OPS) faction’s Challenge.

The Supreme Court, in its verdict said that we have upheld the order of the division bench of the Madras High Court of 02.09.2022 and made our earlier interim order permanent. We have not dealt with the matter of resolutions before the party that were being heard by the single-judge. We leave it open for the said resolutions.

So, the judgement of the Supreme Court has been in favour of EPS faction, and ot is a big setback for the OPS group and its supporters.

Supreme Court pronounced its judgement today on a batch of pleas relating to the tussle between former Chief Ministers OPS and EPS over AIADMK (All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam) party leadership.

A two-judge bench of the Supreme Court, headed by Justice Dinesh Maheshwari and also comprising Justice Sanjay Kumar pronounced the verdict today.

Both the parties — EPS and OPS — had moved the Supreme Court over the tussle between AIADMK party leadership.
