PM Modi invites Tesla CEO Elon Musk to invest in India

New Delhi/New York: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday met Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, and invited him to invest in India in the electric car sector and the commercial space sector. The two had a conversation ranging from energy to spirituality.

In a tweet, the PM said of the meeting:

“Great meeting you today @elonmusk! We had multifaceted conversations on issues ranging from energy to spirituality.”

The Tesla CEO and Twitter owner in a tweet said:

“Great conversation with @NarendraModi.”

Later, speaking to the media, the Tesla CEO said that he is a fan of PM Modi.

“I am incredibly excited about the future of India: India has more promise than any other large country in the world. He really cares about India and he is pursuing us to make significant investment in India. India is great for solar energy investment: I tentatively plan to visit India next year,” Musk is quoted as saying.

A statement said that PM Modi met Elon Musk, tech pioneer, business magnate and CEO of Tesla Inc. & SpaceX; owner, CTO and chairman of Twitter; founder of the Boring company and X-corp; co-founder of Neuralink and OpenAI, today, in New York, USA.

“Prime Minister appreciated Mr. Musk’s efforts at making technology accessible and affordable in various sectors. Prime Minister invited Mr. Musk to explore opportunities in India for investments in electric mobility and rapidly expanding commercial space sector.”

The MEA spokesperson in a tweet said:

“Talking business and technology!

“PM @narendramodi met with renowned business magnate and investor @elonmusk

“Appreciated him for his efforts at making technology accessible and affordable in various sectors. Invited him to explore opportunities in India for investments in electric mobility and rapidly expanding commercial space sector.”
