On Wednesday, June 28, the Bhim Army Chief, Chandrashekhar Azad, was shot at, by unidentified assailants, in Uttar Pradesh’s Deoband, after which he was rushed to a hospital nearby. Even though injured, Azad is out of danger. As per the police, the attackers had arrived at the spot of the attack in a Haryana number car, and they fired upon Chandrashekhar Azad, and that was how a bullet brushed past him, injuring the Bhim Army Chief.

The police are now investigating the matter, and they have been identified the car, and are now trying to ascertain the identity of the attackers, and are looking at the CCTV footage of the incident. The CCTV footage shows how after attacking Azad’s convoy, the assailants fled the scene, and this attack stirred chaos all around among people. The main question to which the police are seeking the answer is how a car came in between a large convoy, for the attack to take place smoothly.

Appealing to his supporters from the hospital, Azad said, “I would like to appeal to all of you to maintain peace. We will fight our battle in a Constitutional manner. I am okay and I appeal you all to keep calm. There is a festival too tomorrow, hence, I request all of you to remain pacified. It is the nature’s blessing that nothing is going to happen to me now, I am healthy”.
