Hyderabad: Former Telangana BJP President Bandi Sanjay Kumar, MP, has been promoted to a crucial role within the party.

In a significant move, the Bharatiya Janata Party BJP National President J P Nadda issued an order appointing Bandi Sanjay as the National General Secretary on Saturday, party sources said.

D K Aruna has also been announced as the National Vice President, while Andhra Pradesh BJP leader Sathya Kumar has been allowed to serve as the National Secretary, the sources added.

There were speculations regarding Bandi Sanjay’s future post after he resigned as BJP state president. Some reports suggested that he might be given a position in the central ministerial category or appointed as a national secretary in charge of certain states.

However, the party’s national leadership has now officially assigned him the role of National General Secretary.

Kishan Reddy had to resign from the post of Union Minister, as individuals are allowed to hold only one post. This move led to concerns about Telangana losing representation in the Union Cabinet. Some hoped that Bandi Sanjay, who had resigned as state president, would be allowed to fill the vacant position. But the latest decision by the party’s national leadership has appointed him as the National General Secretary.
