On Monday, August 7, the Delhi Services Bill was passed by the Rajya Sabha, after a long session of debate and discussion, and voting on the issue by those in favour and those opposing the bill. While 131 members of voted for the bill, 102 members of Opposition parties votes against the same. In the meanwhile, AAP MP Raghav Chadha suggested that the bill should be sent to a select committee.
But on Monday itself, Chadha was accused of forgery by Rajya Sabha MPs, after he moved the motion against the Bill with the signatures of five MPs which were allegedly included by fraudulent means.
Now, if forgery is proved to have taken place at the hands of Chadha after the investigation of the Rajya Sabha Chair, an FIR can also be filed against the AAP MP. But on the other hand, Raghav Chadha has refuted all these allegations.
As a response to these accusations against Chadha, AAP Minister Atishi Singh called the BJP an ‘illiterate party’, which does not know the rules of the Parliament.
‘BJP is scared of a 30-year-old MP Raghav Chadha. The way the BJP had snatched away Rahul Gandhi’s Parliament membership, they are also trying to snatch away Chadha’s membership.’, expressed AAP Rajya Sabha MP, Sanjay Singh.
He added, ‘They are dangerous people, but we the soldiers of AAP are not scared. If they snatch away Raghav’s membership, he will return after being elected again. We will continue with our fight against them. In order to propose the names of MPs, signatures are not required.’
