On Saturday, September 30, the Indore Metro trial run was successfully conducted after being flagged-off by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan. With the successful trial run of the metro project, Chouhan announced that the metro will run from Indore to Pithampur and Ujjain. It has also been envisioned that during the 2028 Singhasth Kumbha in Ujjain, devotees from Indore will be able to visit Ujjain to pay their obeisance to Mahakal Baba, via the metro.

The Chief Minister added that the region comprising Indore and the areas nearby will be developed into a metropolitan authority, and swift action will be taken to uplift the ban on the registry in Gandhinagar.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, said, ‘Metro in Indore implies a new transport revolution. A few years ago, metro trains in our country were just a dream. But this is because of the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi that this dream has been fulfilled.’
