Hubballi: In a dramatic twist to Karnataka’s political saga, former Chief Minister and BJP MP Basavaraj Bommai accused Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of orchestrating a high-stakes political maneuver. On Saturday, Bommai alleged that Siddaramaiah is preparing to parade MLAs in Delhi to distract from the ongoing MUDA (Mysuru Urban Development Authority) scam investigation.

Addressing the media, Bommai charged that the Chief Minister’s move was a desperate attempt to shift attention from the scam that is already under legal scrutiny. “The MUDA scam is a serious matter, and we must let the judicial process unfold without interference,” Bommai declared, his voice laced with frustration. “Instead of facing the issue head-on, the Chief Minister seems to be employing political tactics to preserve his seat of power.”

Bommai’s criticism did not stop there. He sharply rebuked Congress leaders for their alleged double standards regarding the controversial land allotment to Jindal at a significantly reduced price. The decision, which has ignited debate within the Cabinet and beyond, has been a flashpoint in the political arena. “When we were in power, we reconsidered the Jindal land allotment due to substantial opposition,” Bommai explained. “Now, those same Congress leaders who were vehemently against it are suddenly in favor. This stark contrast reveals their hypocrisy—playing one role when in opposition and another when in power.”

Adding to the political drama, Bommai also weighed in on the recent standoff involving the Governor’s decision to return several bills for further clarification. He defended the Governor’s actions, asserting they were in line with constitutional responsibilities rather than any malicious intent. “The Governor is well within his rights to seek clarifications on bills that might not align with public interest,” Bommai stated. “He can withhold approval and even refer these bills to the President if needed. This matter should remain a constitutional issue between the Governor and the government.”

Bommai’s statements come amidst a whirlwind of political turmoil in Karnataka, with allegations and counter-allegations swirling as the state’s political landscape continues to evolve. The unfolding drama highlights the intensifying power struggle between the ruling and opposition parties, each vying for influence in a high-stakes game of political chess.
