FS Vikram Misri in Dhaka, holds Foreign Office Consultations with Bangladeshi counterpart

Dhaka/New Delhi: Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, who arrived in Dhaka in the morning on Monday, held talks with his Bangladeshi counterpart Md Jasim Uddin, amid the growing tensions between the two nations.

The Indian FS landed in Dhaka on an Indian air force plane before 8:30 am and was received by director general (South Asia) of the Bangladesh Foreign Ministry Ishrat Jahan.

This is the first high-level meeting between the top diplomats of both nations after the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government on August 5.

The FOC is to be followed by lunch.

The Indian FS will pay courtesy calls on Foreign Adviser Md Touhid Hossain and Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus. Misri is scheduled to leave Dhaka for New Delhi on Monday night.
