NASA, SpaceX launch resupply mission to space station

Los Angeles: NASA and SpaceX launched a new commercial resupply services mission to the International Space Station (ISS)on Monday.

A SpaceX Dragon spacecraft lifted off at 4:15 a.m. Eastern Time from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in the southeastern U.S. state of Florida.

It is scheduled to autonomously dock with the ISS on Tuesday at about 8:20 a.m. Eastern Time.

This mission will deliver a wide range of scientific research and technology demonstrations to the orbiting laboratory. Aboard the SpaceX Dragon spacecraft are experiments focused on vision-based navigation, spacecraft air quality, materials for drug and product manufacturing, and advancing plant growth with less reliance on photosynthesis, according to NASA.

The launch marks NASA’s 32nd commercial resupply mission carried out in partnership with SpaceX.
