New Delhi: A wave of solidarity swept across India on Wednesday as political leaders, spiritual figures, and citizens hailed the Indian Armed Forces’ punitive action of striking terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir under Operation Sindoor in revenge for the Pahalgam terror attack.

Tributes and patriotic affirmations poured in on social media, marking a rare moment of cross-party unity and nationwide support for the armed forces.

Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh led the chorus with a brief but telling: “Bharat Mata Ki Jai!”, in the wee hours of Wednesday after the Indian Armed Forces carried out the missile strikes on terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir.

The Indian Army in a post said: “Justice is Served. Jai Hind.”

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar wrote on X: “The world must show zero tolerance for terrorism” , with the hashtag of OperationSindoor.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi stated, “Proud of our Armed Forces. Jai Hind!” His message was followed by similar expressions of support from state-level Congress leaders.

Congress leader Shashi Tharoor posted: “A set of calibrated, calculated, precise strikes against terror targets. Exactly what i had advocated last week: hit hard, hit smart. I applaud the government and stand solidly with our armed forces.

“At the same time we have behaved in a manner that would not justify further expansion of the conflict. We have made our point and acted in self-defence. Time for all concerned to act wisely to prevent uncontrolled escalation. Jai Hind!”

Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan posted in Hindi: “Bharat Mata ki Jai! Jai Hind Ki Sena”

From state capitals, chief ministers and senior leaders joined the groundswell.

Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath declared, “Jai Hind! Jai Hind ki Sena!”

Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde and Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis both posted “Jai Hind! Operation Sindoor”, while Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar termed the response “a befitting reply to the cowardly Pahalgam terror attack.” “We stand with the government, we stand with our security forces. Jai Hind,” Shivakumar said.

Spiritual leader Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev was among the first to react. “Wishing Our Forces Safety and Success. Blessings. –Sg Operation Sindoor,” he posted on X, as the hashtag began trending nationwide.

BJP national general secretary CT Ravi invoked verses from the Bhagavad Gita, quoting Lord Krishna’s pledge to uphold righteousness in times of moral decline:

“Yada yada hi dharmasya glanir bhavati Bharata… Dharma-saṃsthapanarthaya sambhavami yuge yuge.”

“These lines remind us,” Ravi added, “that in every age, the wicked are destroyed and Dharma is restored. Bharat Mata Ki Jai. Vande Mataram. Operation Sindoor”

The outpouring of public and political support reflected a larger patriotic mood across the country. While the full details of Operation Sindoor remain classified, the unified response from across the political and social spectrum underscored the nation’s resolve against terror.
