Apni Party holds protest, demands increase in ration quota for Kashmir

Srinagar: Apni Party on Monday staged protest demonstrations in Srinagar demanding an increase in the ration quota for the people of Kashmir valley.

The demonstrators, including a good number of women holding placards, were shouting slogans to press for their demands including an increase in the Ration quota and uninterrupted electricity supply for the people of Kashmir valley.

“We are demanding adequate supply of ration to the people of Kashmir especially for Srinagar district which has been curtailed by the authorities making life miserable for consumers”, a protestor told media persons.

The protester said they could only hold protest demonstrations to get the demands redressed as there is no elected government existing in Jammu and Kashmir.

He hoped that authorities would wake up and address our demands.

Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and Member of Parliament Farooq Abdullah, who is also a member of the parliamentary food committee, demanded adequate ration for the people of Kashmir yesterday.
