Bengal LoP alleges of misutilisation of Composite School Grant by WB Govt and SEC

Kolkata: Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari on Monday alleged misutilisation of the Composite School Grant by the West Bengal Government and the State Election Commission.

Taking to twitter, Adhikari said, ‘ Circulars are being issued by the District Project Offices, Paschim Banga Samagra Shiksha Mission, wherein the District Education Officer is granting permission to use the Composite School Grants for ensuring the availability of Assured Minimum Facilities (AMF) in schools to be used as the polling booths in the coming Panchayat Elections of West Bengal. ‘

Adhikari tweeted that said he has dashed off a letter to Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan apprising him of the ‘misutilization’ of the Composite School Grant by the West Bengal Government and the State Election Commission and urged him to kindly intervene in this matter.

‘ The Composite School Grant under the Samagra Shiksha Mission is distributed every year by the Union Ministry of Education as an annual recurring grant for the maintenance of the Govt Schools, which has to be used for the replacement of non-functional school equipment and for incurring other recurring costs such as consumables for play materials, sports equipment, laboratories, electricity charges, internet, water, teaching aids, etc, ‘ the BJP MLA from Nandigram stated.

‘ I have written a letter to @EduMinOfIndia ; Shri @dpradhanbjp Ji apprising him about the misutilization of the Composite School Grant by the West Bengal Govt & the WB State Election Commission and urged him to kindly intervene in this matter, ‘ Adhikari said.
