Washington: One of the black boxes, or flight recorders, from the CRJ 700 passenger jet flight that collided with a military helicopter while landing at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport has been recovered from the Potomac River, CNN reported, citing the office of Democratic Senator Maria Cantwell.

Late Wednesday, a US Army helicopter with three people on board collided with a regional passenger jet carrying 64 people as the latter approached the runway at Ronald Reagan International Airport near Washington, DC. Both aircraft crashed into the Potomac River.

ABC News reported citing a source that both the flight data recorder and cockpit voice recorder from the American Airlines aircraft have been retrieved and are being transported to the National Transportation Safety Board lab.
